Born c.1940 at Atnangkere Soakage, Northern Territory. In 1977, Kathleen was a founding member of the Utopia Women's Batik Group. With wonderful confidence, she merged the traditional iconography of the Anmatyerre onto the new medium of silk. A very innovative and dynamic artist, she exerted a great influence on others in the group. In the early 1980s, Kathleen made her first paintings on canvas (for CAAMA's Summer Project exhibition) and soon developed her unique style of depicting the stories and her understanding of the traditional country. Her dreaming relate to the Mountain Devil Lizard, (Thorny devil lizard) which lives throughout the harsh desert region.

Kathleen is regarded as one of the most recognized and established indigenous artists in Australia and Internationally. She has had numerous exhibitions both nationally and abroad and her works are highly sought after by collectors and State galleries alike.
